Profiles Enhancing Education Reviews (PEER)
These Profiles Enhancing Education Reviews (PEER) aim to describe all countries’ laws and policies on key themes in education so as to improve the evidence base on the implementation of national education strategies. The profiles are related to the theme of the Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report and are prepared by its team. Government validation of the content is being sought and each profile indicates whether such a validation has been obtained.
The profiles contain three chapters so far, the first covering inclusion in education, the theme of the 2020 GEM Report. The second chapter covers equitable finance, made available in January, 2021 and analysed in a policy paper. The third chapter covers climate change communication and education. The first 20 profiles released in November 2021 during the COP26 will be followed by another 50 profiles in 2022. An additional chapter will also cover the provision and regulation of non-state actors in education, the theme of the 2021 GEM Report, in December, 2021. Subsequent chapters also in development will cover gender equality and technology in education.
